The ESDEV Foundation Africa is excited to announce the official launch of the Kurasa Africa Teaching, Learning, and Assessment Platform (TLAP) in Ghana, scheduled to begin on 10th September 2024. This groundbreaking platform will be piloted in selected public and private schools across four regions: Central, Greater Accra, Oti, and Volta.
Developed in partnership with Kurasa Africa, a leading EdTech organization based in Kenya, TLAP is designed to revolutionize teaching, learning, and school management. The platform addresses key challenges in educational delivery by providing tools that enable teachers to effectively implement the Basic School Curriculum’s Common Core Programme, streamline administrative tasks, improve data management, and strengthen communication between schools, parents, and the wider community.
The pilot will focus on Basic 7 to 9 classes in selected schools, equipping teachers with digital tools to enhance curriculum delivery and simplify daily administrative duties. ESDEV Foundation Africa and Kurasa Africa will provide full technical and operational support, including training, to ensure a seamless integration. By leveraging these digital tools, TLAP enhances the overall teaching and learning experience for educators and students alike.
Following the successful completion of the pilot phase, ESDEV Foundation Africa plans to scale the TLAP nationwide, with the long-term goal of integrating the platform across all levels of education in both public and private institutions. This initiative aligns with the Ghana Education Service’s mission to provide inclusive, equitable, and quality education, preparing students to meet the country’s growing workforce demands.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Prof. Francis Owusu-Mensah, CEO of ESDEV Foundation Africa, stated, “The launch of the Kurasa Africa Teaching, Learning, and Assessment Platform is a crucial step toward transforming the educational landscape in Ghana. We are thrilled to bring this cutting-edge technology to our schools, ensuring that educators and students alike are equipped with the tools they need to succeed in this digital age, while enhancing school-parent collaboration for improved learner outcomes.”
William Nguru. Founder & CEO of Kurasa Africa, also shared his enthusiasm for the launch: “We are excited to partner with ESDEV Foundation Africa to bring TLAP to Ghana. Our goal is to empower teachers and students by providing a platform that simplifies learning and school management processes. We believe this initiative will drive educational innovation and contribute to the long-term success of learners across Africa.”
ESDEV Foundation Africa calls on all stakeholders, including school administrators, parents, and the broader education community, to support this initiative as it strives to bring about meaningful and lasting improvements to education in Ghana.
