On 5th June 2024, ESDEV Foundation Africa and Accra Technical University paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation (MESTI) to brief the Minister on preparations for the upcoming Africa Regional Conference on Education and Skills Development (ARC-EDS), scheduled for 12th June 2024 at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra. The delegation included Prof. Francis Owusu-Mensah (CEO, ESDEV), Prof. Amevi Ackapovi (Acting Vice Chancellor, ATU), Ms. Sarah Osei, and Dr. Florence Plockey.
Mr. Cephas Agyei Mensah, representing the Minister, emphasized the importance of the conference and its alignment with MESTI’s Job and Skills Project, commending the delegation on their efforts so far. The conference focuses on bridging skill gaps for youth employment, leveraging emerging technologies, and driving digital transformation in education. It is organized in partnership with UNICEF, UNESCO, the UN in Ghana, and the Vanuatu Trade Commission in Ghana.
Prof. Owusu-Mensah expressed gratitude to MESTI for their support, underscoring the significance of collaboration for the conference’s success. The involvement of MESTI highlights the government’s commitment to educational innovation and skill development, crucial for the future prosperity of Ghana and Africa.
