The Minister for Education of Ghana, Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Government of Ghana to advancing Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a pivotal pathway to nurturing a robust workforce for Africa’s socio-economic transformation.
The Minister made these remarks when the Organizers of the Africa Regional Conference on Education and Skills Development (ARC-EDS), paid a courtesy call on him at the Ministry of Education, Accra. The Minister commended the Organizers for this laudable initiative and assured them of his full support for the up-coming Conference. The Minister further noted the imperative of nurturing critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication skills among Africa’s youth, underscoring their relevance in empowering the youth for gainful employment opportunities.
The 2024 ARC-EDS is aimed at providing solutions to the pressing challenges of unemployment and skills development for employability among Africa’s youth population.
Dr. Adutwum, who is the Guest of Honor for the 2024 ARC-EDS scheduled for June 12, 2024, at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel, expects this innovative annual event to contribute significantly to building 21st Century skills through STEM and TVET education to empower Africa’s youth population towards ‘The Africa We Want’.
